Welcome to our team this year. This will be a fun and great year for your boys. Camp is out of the way, PPK has come and gone, and week one of practice is on it's way out to. I want to personally welcome you.
Football is a tough sport. Even though the kids are young you will be amazed at the level of play. They are all at a different place in terms of development and so be prepared for a wide range of talent and skill at this level. This is a competitive league. The best athletes will play the most. Having said that they are all going to play plenty! We have a small team this year of 20 so there will be chances for them all.
As we move ahead be a supporter of your son. This has to be "We" and not "Me". Almost all the boys want to run the ball or be a QB. It is just not possible. Maybe 1/3rd of them will get that chance. Being the Dad of 3 linemen who never were able to touch the ball I understand that desire. But we are a team. Always encourage your player to do their part and be happy doing it. Never engage in negative discussions. It never helps them get better.
Having said that you have the biggest influence on your kids. Be a positive one. We know you will! We want to thank you all for lending us your kids and to assure you that their time with us will be a very positive one if we all work together! Let's have a great season; win , loose , or draw.
